Send Your First Broadcast

Sending a broadcast in Mailyard Pro is a three-step flow: write → review → send. The Home screen’s “New broadcast” button starts it.

Before your first send

Sending is blocked until a delivery route is ready — free Mailyard configured with a provider (or another SMTP plugin active). This is deliberate: plain PHP mail lands in spam. Settings → Email Service shows your delivery status and active provider at any time. Your From name and address are inherited from Mailyard, and you can override them under Settings → Global Email Settings.

1. Write

Create a campaign and compose it in the email editor — subject line at the top, your content below, merge tags like {{first_name}} wherever you want personalization. See The Email Editor and AI Writing Assistant for everything the editor can do.

2. Review

The review step is your pre-flight check on one screen:

• Subject — confirm or refine it.
• Audience — everyone, a group, or a saved segment. The recipient count shown is exactly what gets sent.
• Test send — email yourself a real copy first. Test emails resolve merge tags like a real send, and their unsubscribe link opens a clear “test email” page without unsubscribing anyone.
• Preview — desktop and mobile, so you see what recipients see before committing.

3. Send — now or later

Send immediately, or pick a date and time to schedule it; scheduled times use your site’s WordPress timezone, shown inline with the current site time. Large lists go out in batches via Action Scheduler, so big sends are reliable rather than one giant burst — and broadcasts are routed on your provider’s marketing stream, keeping your transactional reputation clean.

Need to pull the plug mid-send? A Stop sending action halts an in-progress broadcast (already-queued recipients in the current batch may still go out). Once a campaign is sending or sent it becomes view-only, and its row opens analytics.

After the send

The campaign list shows Recipients, Open rate, and Click rate for every sent broadcast — opens via a tracking pixel, clicks via signed redirect links. Open tracking can be switched off under Settings → Compliance if you prefer not to track.
